i see the pics now, and i'm thoroughly disappointed.
didn't you get a digicam for christmas? i could have sworn thats been brought up before, and yet, i am still looking at horrible camera phone shots.
and if those ARE your digicam shots, then man alive someone has got to teach you how to take a photo and use photoshop to resize and compress
sorry dude, but i just can't stand crappy looking pics, and considering your whole theme and basis for the lancer is the show side (which relies entirely on looks) i would think you would be concerned yourself about taking decent looking photos and the overall visual presentation of your parts and pieces

I dont think theres a cf tutorial on here. I searched a long time ago because I was going to do exactly what sir lancerlot did and I never saw one. However if you go to www.uscomposites.com they can not only sell you the supplies you need but I think they had a message board to get info off of (might have been another site but I think that was the one). Either way that site is really good for fiberglass and carbon fiber info.
Its the one Kontra got his info off of when he did his pillars.

As for resining vinyl, I doubt it.

lol so ur saying he's faking it?
its CLEARLY fake, look at the pics. you can see that its a cut sticker under the cubby hole
you can see its cut below the ac knob
also, he has the twill facing in different directions, some pieces go to the right, others go to the left.
Not impressed.

Actually its real cf. Not quite sure where you get the impression its vinyl? And in regards to that, The contour of the lower din pannel would not allow the cf to rest properly and caused it to crease in that section. So to fix that I mearly cut out a section and replaced it with another piece....
actually if you look in his other posts its carbon kevlar that he wrapped on, and i assume now its the same pieces and he is just putting resin on to get that glossy look. I personally would like to see it. so get a better host for you pics
Here's a pic of some of the scraps... and thanks 03RallyLancer for clarifying the material is a carbon/kevlar. Im so use to just typing "cf", and besides a "ck" woule leave people in the dark. Anyways, on with the pics:
If pics of them before the resin are needed, let me know Ill throw some up...

alright before i get real complicated into this..... You, I, and alot of other people know that carbon fiber has a decent amount of thickness to it, after you add the "resin" and such it is even thicker....you would think that after you did all these pieces with real carbon fiber they would not fit the way you did them and wrapped everything through the holes unlike all other vendors that cut it right at the hole.
If that is the case and this is real CF then you wont be fitting a radio with a din cage in, nor will you be able to put ur knobs back on flushed, just look at how thin the gaps are stock and think about the tolerances after adding this carbon fiber you said you added. Its just not possible
Till then, im labeling it as fake phony, whatever u wanna call it. Show it to me and then ill be the judge. Till then your sh1tty pics should stay off the forum till you can learn to use a digi cam.
