Paint Job

I just talked to a local shop here and they said they would paint and install the the TechSport kit without the spoiler (Already have it) for $900. Am I gettin ripped off? I called quite a few shops and there aren't many which are willing to put on the kit.

P.S.
Dave did you receive my e-mail and PM in regards to the kit?

if i'm assuming ur t ech sport kit is a body kit, painting a kit should definitely not cost more than $500USD. intsallation of parts should definitely not be more than 200$. front bumper and rear bumper swapping is easy. drilling in the skirts and spoiler is trickier, but 900$ is way too much i find man.

unless this is like Chip Foose quality paintjob.....

$900 isn't that bad if they are going to blend it with your original paint, most body shops assume you want it done without asking. Especially if they are installing the kit for you, I am sure they plan on blending.

I think they do. My friend got a conversion done on his Silverado there and they did an excellent job.

There is another shop that will do it for $650, but the area where it's located at isn't very trustworthy. Don't know if I want leave my car there.

I just got a Pm from Dave and he said the Rear Reinforcement bar has to be modified to install the bumper. Does that mean I'm going to have to lose it? Is it the same for the other kits, like the Ken Style Rear?

I would like to get people's experiences in regards to this, that have this kit.

i dont know about the kit but thats a good price (900) you got quoted. around me most places charge upwards of 1200 to paint and install bodykits. Although this is based on the idea that the bodykit will need some modification to go on and then they will blend the paint so it matches perfectly.

Isn't a lil bit dangerous? What if you get rear-ended?

NO NEED TO REMOVE THE WHOLE THING!!!!

i am in the same situation... kinda, i have my car in my garage with the bumper held on with 3 bolts... ( i need a deep socket 10mm ). there is a metal plate spot welded to the rear bumper ( behind the liecense plate on the actually re-bar ). It has about 14 welds. and that is what needs removed. It has 2 little hums that stick out about 1/2 an inch that prevent correct fitment.

Is that for the TechSport or the Ken Style? Cause Dave said it had to be modified not taken off. Is there any rear bumper that can keep the bar? and What if I kept my stock OZ rear. Will there be a huge difference in height?
