its actually just attached via clips to the main shifter assembly. i didn't discover this until i took the whole thing apart, and realized it is 2 separate pieces

i was thinking: if people want 99% of the look but cut down on price a little bit, then they should:
get the center vent strip w/ mirror control done in cf
get the shifter trim done in cf
instead of a cf hvac trim, pick up the evo'ish aluminum looking one.
the way i have it right now is 2 pieces of cf are butting against each other, and they need to be offset because the cf is accent, not the main material. but if you got the aluminum hvac trim, not only would it accent the cf and stock black, but it would also draw focus to the hvac/radio and doesn't this make sense?
i mean, it is dead center in the car, also, it should be the center of attention cause its where the radio is and the climate control. just a thought, but i think that would look awesome
