Well I'm not sure I was going to make it functional. Hell half the ducts, slits and cavity's in all the Lancer Body Kits I have seen have no real purpose but to make the car look better.

I doubt his is functional either but it does add a unique flare to the car that very few other lancers will have. I have heard alot here about people wanting their cars to look different then everyone elses and I find it hard to think anyone here would not think that no matter it's function it has some appeal to them deep down in their rally evo hearts.. =)

to make it functional if I'm hard pressed to maybe I'll put a whistle up there... or a wind speed gauge :P

i could make my car unique by putting a steel rod that extends through the windshield and into the cabin. no one has that. then again, there's a reason no one has that.

now i guess that doesn't really compare to a hood scoop, but IMO that just screams out RICE. doing stuff to be different is not always good.

The hood scoop on tights car cost like around $80 and he has a guy that does awesome body work that installd and painted it for like $150-200 I think. (dont quote me on the instal and paint price) but anyway if you really want the scoop and everything come down to SA sometime, pm tight, or look up Top Notch Performance in SA and give them a call. they can get anything at really good prices. By the way if any of you have not seen tights car in person i have to tell you it is amazing. they spent alot of time on it. everything is done nicely and cleanly. he even had his rear bumper seemed together to his rear quarter panel. the kit he has is authentic jspec and was fitted quite well. His car is a show car and needs to be seen in person before you say something dumb.

like

quote:
How stupid is that... that guy has smaller rims in the back. - ru4real

he does not all four rims are the same size

or

If you cut a hole in your roof and headliner it would make a great hairdryer...
- yannotmi

having a scoop on the roof is all show and you don't have to cut a hole in the roof.

The scoop would be nice if functional. And I have seen his car in person.

I'm sorry, I like tightlancer as a guy, and I respect the amount of sheer will he put into that car, but, the end result isn't exactly my speed, or anything I myself would do. But, to each their own.

Not necessarily. Then it would wash your hair.

actually, as stated previously, it isn't actually a "vent". it is just a little piece of body work that is smacked on top of the roof. great if your into that sort of thing. not a big fan of body kits myself, and this particular mod just seems like adding air resistance to me.

Thats a Roof scoop the same thing the eclipse had in F&F. You can get those for about $150 at eBay. They do nothing for speed just for looks.

I've voiced my opinion in this matter before, and like I said, it's nothing personal, but, just my opinion. Alot of it looks sloppy to me. Just my opinion. I'm impressed with the amount of work that went into it, but, that's about it.

a lot of roof scoops that i have seen are pretty generic...meaning that they are actually hood scoops that they put on the roof. totally cosmetic.
