I don't think the scoop on his roof is functional.

That is one ugly looking car. Why would you want a roof scoop? Real rally cars have them because they don't want to waste the weight on A/C. Its pready dumb to see a road car with a roof scoop that does nothing.

hood scoops are just for show on front mounted motor cars. Often with rear engine cars, a hood scoop is very functional as it is one of the only ways to get flowing air into your engine (aside from side intake or tons of piping to a front mounted intake). I believe on rally cars that scoop is an air vent into the cabin. Bottom line, it's not going to be functional and it's going to be expensive....

I believe Erebuni has some generic ones. If anyone feels like double checking here's the link. It will involve cutting if you want it to be functional and it'll pretty much mean AC is a waste.

EDIT: Well, I can't find it. Oh well. I was probably thinking of some other company. I'll try to find it when I have more time.

If you cut a hole in your roof and headliner it would make a great hairdryer....

Unless it's raining. Then it would be rather counterproductive.

Try TAD Motorsports <http://www.tadmotorsports.com/>. The Evo IV I rally in (prepared by TAD) has a roof scoop; it's got two directional vents inside the cabin to provide a nice breeze while driving.

A caution, though: a friend of mine, also in a car with a roof vent, caught a bird at speed in the vent. Makes for an interesting ride, driving along with blood and guts dripping on you from above.

There's also a chance that you're going to get some drips when it's raining. I haven't seen a completely watertight one.

Vermont Sports car can do them also. They can make ones with adjustable nozzles like on a jet plane.

On the street this isn't worth it. Its value would be in racing where you you want some heat relief (and don't want the HP drain of AC).
You could also do what nascar does and have a NACA duct on the side window going through a cooler and then straight into your helmet. That would be neat.

too bad there are no flying fish, talk about drive by sushi hehe. Do that put a control in them that allows you to controll the air in or is is just all or nothing?
