Airbrushed Interior Panels

I would change the steering wheel, I would change the seats and upgrade the sound system.
But, since painting is a few $ mod, my few $ mod that I would do before painting would certainly be changing the dash/instrument panel lights (not painting the clear lens in front of the cluster, but changing the lights inside). Instead of painting my panels I'd prefer some little brushed alu touch or carbon fiber. No sticker fake carbon or alu... My father has a S80 with aluminium inserts and it looks fantastic, even if it's not a sports car at all.
But once again, those are my tastes, and I was just wondering if I was the only one that would not paint my interior panels.

I'm "volunteering" (read: James is nice enough to do it, and I'm absolutely ecstatic to be able to get it done) my ride, so, we should have a pictorial soon.
And, as for most of what MrSpace said, most of the interior options most of those are much more expensive than this in material, not counting labor. Most of the stick-on dash kits cost 150-300 dollars, and I can't imagine the price of real CF or brushed Aluminum inserts, which would have to be custom made. I think this is one of the best inexpensive mods that you can do, else I wouldn't be having it done in my ride. Good job James, can't wait to assist in getting some new options to the people.

Yea, I used the krylon clear coat too, and I put like 5 coats on...so the paint you used is the same kind you use to paint your car?...like I said I think it looks badass, but suyfergirl also mentioned something about chipping so I wanted to make sure...I'm lookin forward to seeing how your center console piece turns out, and hopefully if I have time I can do it too...
it is the same as you would use for your car but you need to tell the guys that are mixing it that you will be using it on plastic...they mix some kind of vinyl base into it or something like that...
hey guys, calm down.
i tried to be as clear to the fact that the paint job was really weel done and that I think it's each their personal tastes if they like to color the interior or not. The only, and only thing I was asking is if everybody was fan of this mod or I was the only one that would'nt do it in my car.
"point final"
I am not dissing anyone or anyone's taste here.

Yeah, my point was that the other interior options you were listing weren't in the same ballpark as far as cost of materials went. It's kinda like saying that intakes suck because a turbo kit can be had for 3,500 more.
To each their own, but, I think that it looks good, and comparitively, the price is awesome.

actually you can also look at the back of your engine compartment and get the color code there also...heh...i think it is something like y001 or something like that...just tell the place that it is a mitsubishi color and what year your lancer is...they should have the color codes somewhere
