vinyl looks cheap from up close and light also goes through it. get fiberglass or cf. cost more but it doesn't look cheap and it won't shread if a rock hit it on the freeway

not to mention, but in case you didn't know. (since you're in CT) vinyl gets brittle in the cold, anyone who has scraped their windows and hit the vinyl knows what i'm talking about.

I would think fiberglass would look better, due to the fact that they can be paint matched... dont know if you can get some vinyl in thunder grey...

I finished painting my fiberglass eyelids from RRM and I'm probably going to install them this weekend along with my Evo VII fiberglass grill from RRM. I plan to use the 3M double sided tape. I think all the snow is going to be gone after this weekend.. looks like temps are going to be in the 40's and rising from there.
I'd go with the fiberglass ones if I were you. They are great quality and look perfect painted. Just buy a spray kit of your paint color from www.paintscratch.com. They have step by step instructions on how to paint them. I did it in my basement and it turned out PERFECT.
