Hey.Thanks for the advice on the fuel meter! I will have to get the plastic off and try to push the needle back to full when i fill the tank (Its way over full otherwise). When the car is off it reads down to the low limit. Booyah- did you use the same method for your gauges or did you do that before me.. (Just curious if we did the same thing.) Anyhow mine looks just like booyahs.. And whoever was asking if we could just use the high beam covers, No. Again, the gauges are tinted yellow. Thanks all.
hey stuff, since you live in chicago.....need extra cash? ill pay you to do mine hahahah
also, is it possible to change it to any other colors other than blue/green???
btw, why don't you come out with us to the autoshow? MLC is planning on going sat the 22nd. go to the site & register for more info. www.mitsuclub.tk We're planning on meeting up with the galant crew too and i think there will also be several eclipses going as well.

As far as changing to other colors, Yeah you can make it whatever color you want but just be warned that the yellow will mix with it and distort it so if you remember what mixing colors does from like 3rd grade you will be ok. And thanks for the invite, I'll have to check out that website. I am already goin on the 15th but it might be cool to see other mitsus in the area as well.
There is my old integra cluster
that was back in 1998 I think, when buying a guages kit was waaaay to expensive..
I made an orange part right before the red redline.. the orange was from the factory redline (6500) until cutoff (7000). and the red was cutoff and beyond (useless part unless you change your computer settings)
Looked pretty good and made people ask lots of questions when seeing it. Sure that today every civic/integras has glow in the dark clusters, but anyways.
I might try that same thing on my next car (Lancer).

DaBMan: Mitsu did some clever, and not so clever things with the lighting on this one. The only bulbs that have covers are the three main that light your tach/speedo/temp/gas/ and LANCER in the OZ. The other items (highbeams, blinkers, and if you shine a light up there you have two different sets of driving lights that they've accounted for: fogs and offroads).... ahem, the other items have very small clear bulbs behind them and use some sort of dye or gel to give the colored light.
The problem is that the damned lights are really dim (they shine yellow on their own) AND none of the bulbs shine directly onto what they're lighting- they have this stupid dispersion method to get the light behind the gage. Couple that with the slight yellow they added to the gages and you have that yellow color that most people avoid. I actually drove around like that for a few weeks, and it really wasn't all that bad.
So, I'm going to try 3.4V clear LEDs behind there and see if that doesn't help. I originally used a very nice cobalt blue that gave a badass deep blue color when I shined a maglight behind it- but the bulbs wouldn't shine through.
Now that Booyah posted my cluster, let's Stuff's!!
Do you have a color number for your gel? Which company made yours?

I wont get to pics til sat. And no i don t gave gel #'s. As for those LED's, they wont be bright enough...they are tooo focused. You can try to sand the lens off of them but good luck unless you have like 6 per gauge $$$$$.
i'm impressed that you handled this yourself, that alone is commendable. personally i'm a huge fan of blue gauges, that on a white background would look sweet........there was someone a while back who posted theirs
Tonight i am scanning the "Lancer" backing that has the seatbelt light and the door ajar light. I'm trying to see if I can make a new backing with different colors.
