cleaning leather question?
cleaning leather question?
i was in autozone tonight looking for some leather cleaner, there were a bunch there so i asked the guy if he knew which was the best one for what i needed. i told him that my seats are dirty from being in a junkyard. he told me to use degreaser and some leather cleaner that was ph balanced. i looked at him like he was nuts and he was serious, so if anyone know's if this guy really is nuts or if he is for real please let me know. like i said my seats are dirty, but don't have grease on them.
i dunno about degreaser, I would think that would horribly dry out the leather. I'd start with just the leather cleaner, see how good that gets them, and then move on to something more intense
I only use what the place that did them sells... it works awesome..(Classic Soft Trim Brand) try a shop first.. I dont trust Auto Zone on my leather! A soft bristle tooth brush works good on stubborn spots.

If all else fails, go to the dealership and ask them to use some of the "body prep" they use on new cars. It will wipe ANYTHING but pen off of leather. Usually works in just one wipe. It is a clear liquid made by automagic and smells like that new car scent.. or a little like gasoline if it is fresh out the bottle.
