Painted my exhaust manifold cover this past weekend. Did a red to black fade on it. What do you think?

High Temperature paint I assume?

If not, its going to look like $hit soon.

 

yep high temp. its good to go, already heat tested it.

 

what high temp paint did you use, and did you clearcoat it also?

 

duplicolor high temp, and its like 3 layers of primer, 7 layers of paint and 5+ layers of clear.

 

too REDDISH IMO

yeah, to me the red tone makes the engine looks phony/cheap.

 

maybe you could paint black on the letterings and emblem. maybe it would look lot better?

i think it is just because it is bright. i think it looks ok. like the way you faded the manifold cover.

 

un i dont think clear and primer are safe at the temp that that gets to

 

Red looks good, but also looks dirty in the pic because of the fade.

 

I guess we'll have to find out lol.

Worst thing that could happen is it fades and chips then it just forces me to buy an aftermarket header

 

it doesnt even give an better appearance of your car. it makes your car look cheaper. i'd suggest adding black letters on it and put some touch up tones of black on different places to balance the eyesore.
