Intake Manifold Question

Does anybody know if black would be okay to paint my intake manifold? Are there certain colors that I should stay away from as far as my engine goes?

Thanks for any info,

Eddie

the colors doesnt matter. its your choice to pick a color but the most important thing u need is a high temperature tolerable paint.

i wouldnt go with yellow, i didnt go yellow on my engine since my yellow brake calipers turned a burned orange color after like 4 months, black if anything would be best, it cant fade or turn to anything else since it isnt a color to begin with. go black. imo

black in the engine bay would probably make it harder to spot oil leaks dont ya think?

Yeah I agree. Don't go with too dark of a color like black. I had an injector leaking fuel and the only way I figured out which one was leaking was from seeing the fuel which had leaked out onto the intake manifold.

What color should I go with, silver? My k-bar from RRM is red and it won't match the candy apple red on the manifold.

Oh yeah........ As long as I know what color Kareem used for the manifold. He really did a good job on the paint and it would be a shame to paint over.

Would it be okay to paint over the original paint or should I sand it down?

Send him a PM and asked what paint he used on the manifold. I also like the idea of painting the intake white, but it would look dirty really fast - I guess that could be incentive to keep teh engine bay clean.

I thought about white, but yeah that would get EXTREMELY dirty. It would be pretty cool though.

Maybe I should take it to a shop to get painted.........I'll let you guys know what I decide. Thanks for the input!
