Thread of Stuff

Okay well I've decided, since I am going to be getting a bunch
of parts for my lancer over the next few months. That I would
create a thread to document installs, post pictures, reviews,=
questions, and how-to's.

Anyways, for my first post I would like to share some nice pictures
of the RRM Header I recieved in the mail today. I was incredibly
suprised at how nice they looked. I'll throw up pics of the install
once its done.

Out of curiosity, the Headers fit on the bolts that are being used to
bolt up the stock exhaust manifold, correct? Because I didn't recieve
any hardware with this package, and I would just like to make sure .

Heres the pics:

Correct. It's made to bolt to the stock downpipe.

Okay thanks. And this sounds weird, but my mom is a bit skeptical about this.
She says that there should be gaskets. She said "Right, It won't come with
gaskets, but you should be smart enough to buy them on your own". Any
suggestions to make the parental unit happy?

Well, I called up Road-Race, and yes, they forgot to send me the bolts. But as far as 'torquing' bolts go? How do you ensure they are tightened propery without a 'torque wrench"?

Yeah, rather than doing it twice, just grab an extra set of gaskets. A word of advice: follow the torque patterns to apply pressure gradually over the whole surface rather than tightening one side all the way down at a time. It will help prevent the probability of leaking.

Hmm I am getting two different answers from people. I need some specifics answered here .

I can get the top 8 bolts off the stock exhaust manifold... as for the two bolts that connect to the downpipe, do those fit with the RRM header, or do I need to get new bolts? I called RRM today and they said they forgot to include the bolts with the headers and that I needed to buy two:

12mm x 1.25 x 40 bolts with lockwashers.

Some people said this is bogus, now I don't know what to do? Please help.

Oh, what's up man . Are you sure the bolts are 12 x 1.25 x 40? Home depot says they don't even carry bolts that size, and I looked at where the exhaust manifold bolts to the downpipe, and those look a lot bigger than 12mm.

maybe 14 then... best thing to do is just take it to home depot with it and find the bolts and see if they thread right in.
