Just Installed 4500K HID - $230 shipped

This is for those of us who have been looking for an affordable HID kit. As I mentioned to some of you earlier I just bought and installed my HIDs from this group buy thread. Read on and you'll find that the kit is an OEM kit from the factory of a name brand. In fact my kit was shipped in the name brand box...just different labels on the ballast. It was a completely reversible kit, as there was no splicing involved. It didn't come with a manual so it took a little experimentation to figure out how to stick the wires to the provided socket. I'll post up an installation guide later.

Here is the group buy link:
http://forums.vptuning.com/viewtopic...er=asc&start=0

And here is the installed pics:

Here are the pure white HIDs, Lexus style. Compare the light colour with the yellow ion fogs.

45 degree shot of the headlight.

Glare pattern of the 02-03 USDM Lancer headlight. It's not too bad compared with pics of most other cars I've seen.

HID's kick ***! That's a good price for that kit too. I paid $300 shipped for mine, but they are 10000k.

hey rouentahl

thanks for posting this link.
this is the same HIDs I was talking about awhile ago when everyone started making a huge fuss about the price and that no one would trust this guy (Adrian).

I hope you guys can see that he does indeed offer a great product at a fraction of price that many others offer theres at

Also as far as bulb temps go...you don't need to guy higher than like 7000K and just so you know most car companies give you 4300K as the stock bulb. Its the projector more than the bulb that gives you the colors you see. Moral of the story...stick with 4300-7000K and you'll save money and have more light

thanks

Thanks for the kind words you guys.

If anyone is wondering "why so cheap?" its because I always wanted to find a kit for cheap for my Volvo (when I had it) and when I crossed these prices, I figured "share the wealth". I don't charge an arm and a leg, I barely charge enough for two value meals at some fast food joints.

Thanks & God bless.

Adrian

PS: Anyone here in Gainesville Florida? I get SO BORED sometimes!

The Glare is really bad with out light housings, get a wall that is a bit taller and you will be suprised. Hence the reason I am getting projectors retrofitted for my hids. see the pic of what non projected lights glare patter looks like. Here is the link from my thread concerning my projector retrofit. Tweak: Thats exactly what I was planning to do on my last car and what will be done to this car by December.

Are you going to do the retrofit yourself? I'm looking for online info to help guide me to do it myself at the moment. Good luck with it!

I found an ungodly amount of excellent info and tutorials and even projector comparisons on HID Planet . Check out HID university for everything you should need. they also have a forsale forum if you are looking for projectors or you can try ebay like I did. Because I have not done a retrofit and I cannot afford to make any mistakes, I am paying HID Retro to do the retro for me. I know it is kinda pricey, but his work also comes with a warranty covering any defects that might come up from his work, which is something I cannot say bout my own work haha. check out the thread in my signature to see the status and the out come of my retrofit. thanks man.
