I've heard here and elsewhere the rumor that the rrm piggy has problems in cold weather. If that's true, could you just reset it and let it "learn" the environment again? If it's not true, then let me no without flames.

i have the piggyback on a stage 2 turbocharged lancer and i don' have any issues as far as the piggyback. maybe people are installing them incorrectly or not soldering the wires? i find it hard to believe that i can put a turbo on my car, new injectors, and other things that could easily mess my car up, and still have the piggyback working perfectly, and NA guys can't get it working. don't rule out installation error.

You guys gotta understand...the piggyback works fine. My only issue is a little bit of a rough idle from time to time so far.Its like the == of having your ac on. Other than that the new power is worth it. My car feels great. This mod is WORTH IT!!! Anything you do to your car will effect it in some ways. Say if you where to get cams it would idle like it is barely running.

well, at the same time you can't rule out RRM error either. I know I was one victim of an F'd up piggyback (sent me one with the wrong map in it, couple weeks later after tons of troubleshooting got a new one from RRM)

anywho, i think there are some differences between the n/a pb and the stg2 one. yes, it does use the same splitsec unit, but maps are vastly different and i'm willing to bet rrm took different paths to tune them (for example n/a only can use a certain amount of fuel cause its stock, while stg2 can use moe fuel when necessary, etc)

just outta curiosity, are the people having problems driving manuals or autos? Maybe there's a difference on the maps for the 2 PBs that causes rough idle. just athought, no real evidence.

talk to rrm, you might be able to send it back and have them check the flash for screwups (you gotta be pretty demanding on the phone, so put on your tough guy uniform)

if you can't or that doesn't help, sell it (assuming you've tried everything else, ie, changed plugs, coil packs, checked wiring, that kinda stuff)

then go safc2 or eman

you pay a touch more up front (for unit and dyno tuning) but you have a better unit with more possibilities down the road (say camshaft, or larger injectors, or turbo, etc etc)

yeah, but emanages are a bit more (especially if you pick up all the goodies)

tuning is what will cost ya (150/hr at most places), but you get a custom tune to your car and your mods and most importantly, you can RETUNE later on
