How is the Apex kit so cheap?

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...&highlight=HPP Well, they really never say per se exactly how they're different other than give a "comparison".
thats the thing about ordering from OVERSEA man, u think the price is good and all, but think about it, its made in Sri Lanka man.
i'm not prejudice nor racist, but hell, that country is cheap labor, thats why the price is so damn low.
all ur paying is for shipping man, i was going to order the KenStyle kit but after hearing some terrible feedback from their paper thin fibreglass material, i'm seriously reconsidering. plus, the price which includes the shipping (which sounds too good to be true), remember thats what they say, but once it actually enters the US/Canadian Border or whichever country u are in, there are customs taxes.
i remember i got my Tsunami T2000 body kit, made of polyurethane (best quality available, pretty much unbreakable), they're kits are EXTREMELY expensive, but atleast i got the peace of mind that its the best quality, and they fit perfect!! but going back to taxes and s/h, UPS charged me like 700$(CDN) which is around 480$US for customs tax/brokerage fee and all, these are the hidden fees. dont think that this will be any cheaper when u order from sri lanka, even tho by boat, the box is 110kg, which is around 240lbs.
i was going to order out of desperation, and being the first one in my city to have a phat modified lancer (cuz stock looks like an economy car, dont look too appealing), but i thought about it, and decided not to risk 2Gs US (thats how much i'll cost over all), plus the expenses when u'll probably do repairs on them.
remember, u pay for what u get. dont risk it, just wait a few months for the Lancer to be mainstream, all good parts developped locally in US/Canada will come out, all good authentic parts, with name brands. sure u pay the extra buck, but atleast u wont have the headache when trying to redeem ur warranty from a country near india, which is VERY far.
i thought about it long and hard, i would actually shell out 200 bucks extra if its a premium quality product made locally.
put it this way, the cheap price ur paying for this made in sri lanka is like buying a chevy cavalier, crap car, being compared to a honda civic SI, which would represent the name brand local kit.
**Notice** i apologize to anyone whom I have offended by using the sri lanka comparison. i also apologize for the sri lankan members, if any. i'm just trying to make a point here. i'm not racist or anything like taht for that matter. just helping my peers make the right choice.

oh by the way, sharkracing is a good place to order. this is the same place where my cousin bought his kit for the tiburon, they're trustworthy and the quality of their products are good. alot of the parts are made in korea
i can assure you that these are parts are good quality.

well actually, the only fiberglass kit that i would consider getting is the original ken style kit (the kit that kontradiction has). He has repeatly (sp?) stated that his kit is very strong. if im not mistaken, his kit was manufactured in Japan. they use better quality fiberglass and make their kits durable. ABK sells this kit (ABK does not make this kit, they get it from Japan and ship it to you) this is the only kit they do not make. but they are charging about $2000 if im not mistaken.

The ken style kit is available at http://www.kenstyle.co.jp/
The original kenstyle is made in japan, and is strong, Kontradictions is probably the only one in the US to have one. Getting it from japan is near 2000$US plus customs and transportations.
The ABK kit is a copy of the kenstyle, but not the same quality, hence the lower price.

sorry buddy, you are mistaken.
ABK does sell the actual JDM ken style kit http://www.body-kit.com/kenstyle.html . . . and now that i have found the page, they are selling it for $750. the other ken style kit that ABK makes it a replica. but they do sell the original.

I won't argue, I'll let the other members convince you that I am right, and that ken style from ABK is a copy of the kenstyle.co.jp kit.
Just check the rear bumper from the bottom picture (ABK kit) and the second picture (real kenstyle).. and you see that it's not the same.
Anyways

http://www.body-kit.com/asianlancer.html . . . this is their replica kit. as far as i know, the white lancer in this link . . . http://www.body-kit.com/kenstyle.html . . . is kontradictions car and we all know that he has the real Ken style kit, so that has to be the same kit that they are importing from Japan. but then again, ABK has been known to post pictures of a certain kit and sell you a different kit.

well to get back on topic, i think it is fair to say that the main reason that the Apex kits are cheap is due to thier cheap material used to make the bodykits. if you purchase a kit from ABK, make sure its the HPP plastic material. their fiberglass is no good.
