Exclamation Using Evo VIII Interior Parts in US Lancer

OK, so I went down and visited my dealer the other day and once again asked the parts guy about the potential use of Evo VIII interior parts (seats, steering wheel, trim parts, door panels, etc) on my OZ Lancer. In the past, he has consistently told me that these parts were not meant to be used on the US Lancer, and that he was sure they would not fit. Now just recently, when I asked him again, he said that he took a training course for the Evo VIII and that the entire car is "completely" different from the US (OZ) Lancer and that even interior parts wouldn't be interchangeable (at all).

I'm sorry, but if you take one look at any of the interior pics of the Evo VIII, it seems painfully obvious to me that the interior build/structure of that car and the interior build/structure of my OZ Lancer are seemingly identical. Look at the overall dash - does that not look the same as the OZ dash, minus the gauge cluster???

So if I wanted to order a few Evo VIII interior parts and trade them out for my less desirable US Lancer parts, it wouldn't work according to the parts guy. I'm saying BS on that. Either he's covering his since doesn't want parts to be used in that manner or there is truly a difference...what do YOU think???

Of course, I always get the "well you're welcome to order the parts and try them out but they were not made for your car..."

I'd like you guys' opinions. Thx.

I totally agreed with you there. The interior is relatively the same as the US OZ Lancer. I would like to change some of the interior to match with the Evo VIII, too. However, the Evo should be sightly bigger than the reg. Lancer, so we may want to be careful when we order the parts that we wanted.

there is a huge posts with tons of pics from the dealer..

I <3 those seats! But the price they will sell them at the parts dept will probably be way to high and getting racing seats (even adjustable) will probably be cheaper.

As for pedals and shift knob.. if the parts guy tells you it won't fit, It means he's dumb.

Why would you want to pay almost 2500 for the Racaro racing seats that according to the magazine's are build for us "fat *** American's." I would rather pay $200 for a Tenzo R reclinable or $300 for a Sparco. I don't think the seats are worth it. Maybe the shift knob and peddle's but not the seats.
