The car was crashed LAST winter (almost 1 year ago) into a pole from behind. After questioning weather I really wanted a car that was "smoked by a pole from behind" - I decided I had no choice.
The extensive repair process that is involving some frame reconstruction and re-enforcement, as well as adding all new quarter panels, re-bar (for the bumper) and a whole bunch of other factory ordered / original parts has been in progress ever since June of this year, '05. It should be completed "like nothing ever happined" by a projected end-date of Nov., early December - a conservative estimate, but alot of that time is waiting on parts.
I wish this money could have been put into something else, for instance I could have done a motor swap or added many....many upgrades, but I guess that's life, and it's my fault it's like this in the first place. The link to the full photo album shows pictures from the actual crash scene, and as you can see, I was the only car involved. I was going about 30 Km/h under the posted limit of 80 km/h and still managed to spin around going over the crest of a hill...and the rest is history.

dam man that sucks, at least the project is making good progress. With my plans on mods in the spring I hope nothing like this happens to me this winter here in maine, hope my studs work wonders again.
For everyone's information, I did not have a proper snow tire setup, and was using all-seasons. I'm sure that if I'd been using snows this would never have happined - so my advice to all is to get PROPER snow tires - and DON'T mix tread patterns (probably even more important)!
Ya I don't think I'll ever drive it in the snow again - I'm going to keep my beater that I've been driving during the repair process for the winters. If anything it'll save me th salt stains on the mat
We're now at the stage of waiting for the new quarters and part of the new re-bar assembly being installed. All of the framework is now done and it's fully re-inforced. No suspension work was required luckily. I'm trying to decide weather I should paint the entire car or just match the yellow and leave it the same. The paint is still pretty good over the existing body so I'll have to see if there's time before it starts to snow. Also wondering if I should re-badge it or leave the trunk blank.

Nothing like making fun of an Evo owner to make me feel better about having an Econobox... it's all in love and payback for them saying, "why didn't you just get an Evo?"
