i just ordered a vis evo 7 style carbon fiber hood and the website says it will not fade in the sun but a few people on here said it would but i wanted to ask someone who actually has had one so if you have had one plz help ......... will it fade in the sun

 

I was gonna say search but ya know, I'm a newb and there was nothing when i did the search, I don't have the uber search yet so that the other people can make fun of me

 

I'v had an evo8 hood since june and i dont think its faded under the scorching Chicago Sun at all, its a nice hood.

 

i have mine on since the beginning of this year. no fades here

 

Mines been on for almost a year now...no problems at all. I wax it about 100 times a month though

IT WILL FADE JUST LIKE 90% of all cf products... this hood does yes. AND SEARCHHHHH

 

Mine has been on for like 16 months, no fade here and yes i do park in the sun.

 

I had a vis, not for my evo but for my r32 just about a year no fade yet great quality also.

 

i just got mine, looks like great quality. i havent installed yet so i dont know about fitment, but my kit will be here tomorrow, then im gonna start putting myc ar back together.

My hood is faded and cracked all around the vents on the Evo Style vents. I have white spots now popping up around it so I won't be buying from Vis again, needless to say

 

yeh .. my vis trunk is faded. i could notice it b/c i held my hood next to my trunk before i installed it.


adamkean, has ur trunk faded? ... ur's is jsp right?

 

My JSP trunk is perfect still, not a single fade or spot on it anywhere. I wish JSP made hoods for our cars because I would order it in a second. I've had my trunk for almost 2 years and my hood for less than a year and it's very noticeable that the hood is junk.

yeh i guess some ppl think it didnt fade b/c their only looking @ the hood but once compared to some thing else CF u'd be able to notice it. .... and its not a dramatic changed to yellow. its only noticeable in direct sunlight

 

I've got the VIS trunk, and after about 9 months in the texas sun, it is blistering up and the lacquer is coming off. driving me nuts! i wouldnt say it has faded much though.
