what paint on PFRP parts

i have bought some fenders from accolade, and with my luck, came in perfect condition, however, i've been to many paint shops, and i've had so many different prices with these fenders. One guy told me that since its fiberglass, he didn't say any sort of fiberglass, but since its fiberglass it suppose to take flex paint, and that it would almost cost $1,000 to paint it, but then i went to another shop and they said that this guy would do it for $230? I'm confused, its PFRP fenders so what kind of paint?

There's no way you should pay $1000, usually the fiberglass gel coat will crack way before the paint does. The only time flex paint is needed is when you paint somthing like eyebrows, or possibly a cheap bumper that would wobble a lot and crack the paint. Expect to pay $400-600 fo a decent job. The quote you got for $230? Probably wouldn't take the time to sand, fill imperfections, and prime properly. The final job wouldn't look very good.

at my shop we paint ANYTHING that isnt metal w/ a flex primer first, it just reduces the risk of the job coming back.. $1000 is a bit much for 2 fenders, depending on the brand of paint they use,(ppg=cheap / spies hecker=very expensive) it shouldnt be anymore then $500 all together tho

poly fiber reinforced fiberglass or something like that. lol. its just fiberglass with an additive to give a little more flex. nothing like poly urethane though

a flex addiative would be advised to use on any body panel that is not a metal or alloy.
