Oz Gauges Vs. ES Gauges

I know this has been answered a million times but would just like to clear it up. im in the process of purchasing a OZ version of the gauge instrument cluster from a salvaged car.

Is this a direct connect?

Does it matter that i have AT?

Also it shows that it has cruise control but i don't have that in my car will that matter when hooking it up?

And also one more question, when changing the miles on the new one, has anybody had any problems with the dealer or not?

My car has 29000 miles on it and the guy that im buying it from says that this one only has 31000 on it. Do you think that i should not even care since they are so close to each other.

Any input you be most apriciated

Direct plug in. Unplug the ES and the OZ/RA/Evo plug in the exact same way.

No it does not matter

No it does not matter

It's extremely easy to do yourself, but if you're worried about the milage difference the dealership told me I should have taken it to them to install so they could note the odometer reading. But that's only if you feel like giving them more money on something you could do yourself.

Awesome thanks for your help, now i can buy with confidense.

What did you end up doing with the milage, did you change it yourself or just left it the way ti was?

I ended up sending both my ES and the OZ cluster to a company( http://www.specmo.com/) so they could calibrate it. Did not go through the dealership. I'm not sure how to do it yourself.

Just drive your car for another 2000 miles then switch out the gauges.

Just curious, what are your plans for your ES gauge cluster?

Like mentioned above, everything is direct plug and play. You can't chang the odometer yourself without about $1000 of software and harware. Better to have it sent to a company if you're worried. I like the drive around for another 2000 miles first then switch it out

i have no plans for the ES cluster, If everything goes well i will have no use for it. Are you interested in buying it?

By the time that i get the cluster sent to me in the mail ill have racked up 2000 more miles on my car since i drive alot, so im not worried to get it professionally changed unless there are other problems that resort from that.

Only reason I sent it away was because at the time the OZ cluster was at like 20K miles or something and my ES was at 32K or so(forget the exact numbers) but if it's only off by like 2K then just do I direct swap when your ES cluster gets to the same number as the OZ. You'll be just fine

What I've been wondering about is if the button you push to reset the mileage lines up the same on both clusters?

i think they are in both the same spot. I had that question to since i might have to change the glass piece from the oz one to the es one since from looking at the pictures it might be scratched up, but i wont know for sure until i recieve the OZ cluster.

NO they don't. I have about 3 ES gauge clusters and 2 OZ clusters right now (none are functional) and the milage reseter is NOT in the same spot. In other words, the clear protective piece is NOT interchangable.
