Question Custom Angel Eyes for Lancer

I know there are ppl who have made their won custom angel eyes, but I still got this question I need to be cleared.

Since the acrylic/plastic rod can be melted and bent when heated in the oven for less than 10min, won't that be melted too in the headlight housings where I suppose the temp is very high too???

An, another thing, if this really works, then I'm gonna do it to my OZ, anyone here already knows the diameter of the front turn signals????

i don't think the heat of the bulb will create that much temp to melt that rod....but it is a good question and never really thought about that

I agree with blacklancer2k2, I don't believe that the temp of your bulb should get hot enough to melt the rod again, but maybe if you have upgraded harness and higher wattage bulbs it might? They always tell you the light temp of the bulb, never the actual heat measurement!

even if it becomes "malleable" (sp?), if you don't touch it it won't move.. so when cooling down it will stay in the same position. When you heat it in the oven, then you turn it so it changes shape, if you keep it straight and let it cool, you won't even notice it was "soft"

what melted the rod? the headlight or the led?? did he use a resistor and whatnot?

general question: what type of led do you use?? there's like 20 different types. im figuring a 1100 mcl bulb? but would it be better for a lower density mcd bulb?

k..so you need 2 bulbs to do this on one headlight..my question is.. when you solder the two bulb leads together, you use just one resistor, yes?
