Fellow Black Lancer Owners
Meguiers works pretty well, just be sure to wax and buff it really well.
Use there 3 stage process, i think its scratch remover
Wet Shine
Wax
Gets good results, granted scratch marks are still visible but at least its not a lot.

Well, my dad and his "friend" are changing my oil tonight, before they leave and before I go to Carlisle, and they said that they were going to look at it. Greg (my dad's "friend") restores old cars, so he has like all the necessary equipment, plus he's a mechanic, so he said he would look at it, see if he could get the scratches out. None of the scratches are deep at all. If they can't get them out, I'll take pictures and show ya'll

umm okay i tried that sratch x compound iin a yellow bottle right ????
anyways.. it works okay i'd say... it got most of my swirls out but it did show up back again like 3 days later.
i then used meguire luqiud wax after the sratch x the next time i washed the car... the swirls are still visible after all that work it pissed me off big time... my uncle said that not to use the luqiud stuff and try buffing it out with a machine.... at this point i consider it to much of a hassle to try to buff the rear bumper. i honestly think i'll just leave it be for now and just work on learning how to tune the car. Going show for me will come later anyways.. so i guess it's not a biggie now that i really thin about it. but if anyoen finds a easy solution let us know. and don't say take it to a detail shop !
aight peace out folks.

Anyway, without repainting I think the best we can really do is hide it using scratch removers and the likes. I've been meaning to give Meguiar's a shot, but I'm sorta broke at the moment. Hopefully I'll be able to get on that shortly and get the claw and belt marks hidden a little better so that I stop letting them bug me. Has anyone tried Mothers products for this yet? I hear they're quite good as well.
Well my lancer isnt black, but its the pearl blue. I also have scratches that look like they are from either road debris, or from someone leaning on my car. They are also about *** high, i just got my car back from the shop, when i took it there there was a huge *** ****ing gouge in my left passenger door, but that was obviously caused by some little ***** with nothing else to do, cost me 75$ to fix that gouge.

yeah so i'm a smart *** !!!...
maybe our paint issues are acctually a good thing,..
ever seen that nissan commercial where the guy is driving so fast his paint peels off and reveals another color.
maybe in a month someone will come on the forum and we'll find out there was an extra layer of paint on there car.
hummmmmmmmm i wonder how fast i'dd have to go to peel my black paint to a nice platinum grey/silver??
