Of course plenty of people get away with cheap rims, just as people get away with cheap intakes, exhausts, electronics, camping gear, climbing gear, etc. but personally I would rather pay the extra money to buy quality that I know I can depend on. Which would you rather do, go an extra month without rims or have one crack on you? I've had people get on my case when I buy MEC (Mountain Equipment Co-op) clothing, but when we're on top of a mountain in a blizzard, who do you think is smiling and laughing?

just go to discount tire, and get some good rims, last time i went they were selling a set of new enkei for only 400, and good tires for another 320, total 720, kinda of good

 

i believe so too, the cheap knock off parts and brand parts do have difference, when it is a performence part i ONLY put brand names, THERE is A DIFFERENCE!! But i am not sure about the rims, yes cheap rim will crack or bend if you don't put care on them, but man those rims looks pretty nice!!! May i Please do Local Pick-up

 

hehe the pictures in that ebay auction are for a set of DRAG rims (a company that makes pretty good rims btw) although the rims they are selling are NOT drags they are a knock off of them . . i love that they didnt even take a picture of the actual rim.

The rims look nice. If you don't care too much about quality, just get'em. Even if they do get damaged down the road, your taste may change and you can simply get a different set then. I'm assuming you'll probably be making more money by then too.
