headlight mods
iknow of some who have done the mod to change the side driving lights(wich stay on when the lights are on)and the round blinkers so that the blinkers stay on and the sides blink...now i know the process to do this but am woundering if anyone has had any problem due to the wattage change?
i know uranium9v has done this and so far all he has noticed is that the blinkers blink faster than normal.
i am more conserned about the watt change messing up the wires or the harness...anyone else thought about this and have a idea?

I've been wanting to get my sidemarker lights to stay on too. I wouldnt mind having the corner lights blinking instead either. I also want them to blink faster I think it looks way better
. Any advice on how to do this?
to make your lights blink faster...just replace any set bulbs...front or back...with LED's...they draw less wattage and will make the lights blink faster..they do on mine..i have LED's in every single bulb possible..except for headlight

I'm more wanting to onow about the wattage change and how it may affect the wires or harness??it's no biggie if my blinkers are faster or what not...i just don't want to have to explain to Mitsubishi why the wires or harness got melted
Help
I have searched and searched for this topic, i am also wondering what the process is to do this, I want to make my headlings like the lexus IS 300 is this going to mess up the wireing or anything bad? Let me know.

I did this so called blinker and parking light switch...
Now my parking lights are the lil circles inside of the headlights and my blinkers are the corner lights. It looks ALOT like the IS 300. All I did was splice the 2 wires and flip em. Also that got the blinker to blink faster cuz the small bulbs in the corner draws less voltage

now my question still holds...
Will the wattage/voltage change from the change have any effect on the wireing or harnesses?
i know from past experience that wrong wattage with the wrong wires or bulbs can burn through the wires and even fry the harness.so far i know a few who have done this and so far no prob but it has only been a few months ...i guess i just dont want to harm my baby

there is no wattage/voltage change. you're simply switching which bulbs recieve the power. the harness has no chance of being damaged unless you're an idiot and mess it up whilst splicing the wires.
EDIT: on second thought, the bulbs might get damaged but i dont think thats possible.

Some misinformation being posted, so I'll kick in what I know. The wires going to the side lights and the wiring going to the blinkers are the same gauge (at least visually, so probably). The wattage will change, because the lights do have different resistances. The voltage going across them in both cases is 12V, but the lower resistance one will allow more current through and so a higher wattage (current * voltage).
The important lesson here though is that the side light will still run the same wattage before and after this mod and the blinker light will still run the same wattage before and after this mod. The wiring used for each is the same size, so no worries there and the fuses are probably 10A for all of them (probably all on the same fuse anyway).
So there's really nothing that the change in wattage can hurt or even affect...
