Question Body Work Price ?'s

Whats up guys? GOt a body work question for you all. I'm thinking about getting one of those Rexspeed spoilers to replace the wing on my OZ. What I'm wondering is how much a body shop would charge me to fill and paint the holes from the original spoiler. Thanks for the help.

Depends on the shop and if they are only working with metal parts or fiberglass parts. I was quoted at ~$250 (total - labor, material, and paint) to refill the license plate holes on my front bumper. If I had to hazard a guess off the cuff I would say be prepared to pay between $100 and $200 to get the job done right.

However, if you are thinking about getting the car repainted you might want to just have it fixed then and over all it will be a bit cheaper to have the holes fixed.

It will cost you more than that, you have to repaint the entire trunk. I taped up my holes with aluminum tape for the time being and it's unnoticeable. Your buying a $300 trunk lip for a Lancer?

They shouldn't have to repaint the entire trunk - most of the shops can paint match to the point where the human eye can not notice the difference.

Well, he does have a point man.... Our cars aren't civics. So just like parts places, body shops figure they can bleed us whenever they want. A couple guys on here replaced their OZ wings with the EVO, and all they did was buy some fill plugs for the holes, bought some color match paint, painted the plugs, and put them in. Until you get the entire car painted, it would be the cheapest solution, and from the looks of the other members cars, it doesn't look too bad. Maybe that is a quick solution for ya?

Best of luck with it man, keep us posted.

BTW, not to sound retarded, just noticed your sig rhymes.... gonna call you Dr. Seuss from now on.... Good luck with the Turbo as well man.... Gonna be sweet when boosted

Thanks for the idea man. I may just do that. Like the sig says, still trying to figure out if its show or go. I guess it will alldepend on how much money I have left over after paying bills when I get back. I may just end up with a trunk full of JL Audio goodies and call it a day, or I may have a RRM Turbo under the hood, lol. Don't know yet.
Ya know, I didn't even realize my sig line rhymed until you mentioned it, lol.

That is an idea. I may post that up once I get closer to getting home and can actually make this happen.

yea, my bad for agreeing with you.

I did the lancer dance man, i know what you get left with.
I got lucky and was able to deal some parts when i sold the car (hood, tails, wing, piggyback) but the amount probably wasn't half.
I'm still stuck with rims and a carbon fiber grill.
Plus the loss in value and the money spent on intake and exhaust that
were left on the car when it was sold.

You said it yourself....

My bad dude, just one of those days.
Those reasons are why I may just go for a nice audio install instead. At least I can take that out of the car and transfer it to the next ride whn I upgrade.
