I want my stock rims to be a different color!!!!!!!!!! lol
I dont have money to get rims and tires, so i just wanna either paint them, or powder coat them . i know powder coating is better but costly, and doesn't it take like a few days to do? My car is my daily driver, i need it every day so i cant really afford to have it sit at some shop.
I might just paint them, stop by wal mart or something and get some ****. Any tips on techniques or what brand of spray paint is the best???. I have little money so powder coat is good, but painting them myself is better. Input fellas!!!

with the right paint you can actually pull off painting rims with rattle cans. i painted the rims on my old subaru. they came out pretty good. never use the high heat engine enamel paint though, well, don't use it if it has ceramic in it. the ceramic flakes give the whole thing a weird texture, and it's hard to get the texture even over the entire area.
but definitely get something designed for outdoor use that is pretty durable and have at it.

There are a few types of spray paint that are wheel specific. I'm sure any local auto parts store will have them. But they are a high heat paint made for wheels so they last quite a long time and look awesome with even coats. I think they are like 6-7 dollars a can. 2 cans should be enough to get few thick coats on all 4 wheels.

Yes they have gunmetal wheel spraypaint. I used just regular rattle cans to do mine.
You left out cleaning in your 3 steps... clean first, sand, clean again, primer, clean again, spray with ____ (can't remember name, it's a pre-paint cleaner, to de-grease and **** so you don't get runs), wipe down thoroughly (make sure you're wearing rubber gloves, get finger prints on the paint=clean again), paint.
My rattle can job...
