Ok I just got my lancer about a week ago and the dealer just put in a sun roof for me and they're detailing it and what not. Anyways the sun roof they put in is not the stock lancer sun roof but I think one from a Diamonte he said. It goes straight back into the roof when opened and it also has some really cool small buttons on the head liner one to open it up, one to put it back, and then 2 arrows to adjust. Just curious if anybody else has this sun roof on their lancer, I'll take pics tomorrow when I get the car back.

 

Doesn't sound like mine... cool deal then. I hope the installation is as good as a factory unit.

probably a negotiation your particular dealer set up with a local installer. i'm interested though; i've been throwin' around the idea of puttin' an aftermarket sunroof on my '02.

 

all i have to say is leaks leaks leaks. no aftermarket sunroof in the history of automobiles has been leak-free. but if you can stand the drip drip drip then you should have no problem.

 

yeah i've heard the same things but if it leaks they'll fix it and give me a rental I don't mind the car is garage kept 90% of the time. Sorry no pics today they still have to buff my car.

14K for the car + sun roof installation, oh it comes with a lifetime warranty by the way. Still raining here so I'll get pics when I can.

 

it wont leak- old rumors, ive had my sun roof for 7 years and its still good, people talk when they dont know ****, all they've heard is "he say, she say"

and it sounds like you have a mirage sunroof! when you press the middle does the back lift up?

 

Well the guy at the dealer showed me the sun roof on a diamante, the manual says its made by WebastoHollandia and Classics installed it. It's been raining 2 days straight and no problems what so ever.



The arrow buttons will tilt the roof to whatever position you want, the 1 button tilts it all the way up, the 2 button puts the sun roof all the way back (into the roof), and the c button closes it.

Perhaps you haven't known many aftermarket sunroofs? The typical aftermarket sunroof IS a whole lot more likely to leak than a factory one. There's little dispute here, and if you think otherwise, then just give it a few more years. Don't assume it's a he said/she said sort of problem. I've learned from experience of family and friends not to trust aftermarket sunroofs.
