Modding stock OZ spoiler

I was thinking of buying a friend's stock OZ spoiler since I have an ES, and taking off the middle pillar part of it. I assume the spoiler is one piece so you would need to cut it. My question is, what sort of tools would I need and anybody know a good way to go about doing it? Hacksaw and sandpaper? By the way I'm not worried about the hole it will leave on the bottom...it shouldn't be too noticable.

And also, what do you guys think of this idea?

Why go through the trouble? Just buy a Kaminari Spoiler, it looks better

I dont know man. Thats gonna take a lot of work to get it to look nice. Because of the hole. And the hole will look obvious unless you do some serious work to it(putty or bondo or something). Why dont you just shop around for a spoiler. A style that you want shouldnt be too expensive.

Well its already painted the right color and everything, so 150 bucks, no shipping, no paint cost, it sounded like a good idea if I could do it all myself.

you cant just fill the spoiler with bondo it wont hold 1 cause there is nothing backing it 2 because you cant use bondo of fiber glass on polyurathane

uhm yea id say the kamanari spoiler looks almost identicle to the spoiler your trying to create

i've seen someone on the forums take a picture of the spoiler without the middle piece. it didn't look too hard? i thought he just took it off but i guess i was wrong, i thought it was removeable. i'm waiting for mine to be shipped, and i also want to take the middle part out.
