hey Lancer1, it was a while back but was that you that had posted about wanting to know if the Evo Cusco roll cage would fit in our non-Evo lancers? I guess it does? or will there be modification? What color will the cage be?

Just out of curiosity, how do you keep the paint from getting dinged up through either rocks or other drivers?

 

I like speed, but the car is definitely more of a show car than a race car. I added the turbo and other engine mods because it helps at shows, and because I wanted more performance for the street. Plus performance is a huge part of the show scene nowadays. Most of the top cars are high hp with a ton of performance mods. The days of crazy paint and tons of conversions are gone. It's crazy how the trends change.

The car is my daily driver. I just take really good care of it and try not to drive it in the snow or down bad roads if I can help it. As far as getting chips and dings, it does get some, but I've been pretty lucky and haven't had any that are really that noticeable. At the show this past weekend I overheard a guy tell his girlffiend "that car looks so good because it's never driven". He didn't believe me when I told him it's my daily driver! I get a lot of compliments on how good it looks for being driven every day and those are as good as trophies for me. Anyone can keep a garage/trailer queen looking good!

I'm still not sure if the cage will be a direct fit. I did a lot of research on comparing EVO and OZ interiors and came up with no real differences other than the upgrades the EVO comes with (recaros, momo wheel, etc.) so it should fit right in. If not we will try to make it fit. If it just isn't possible then I will just sell it. The cage is like an anodized blue. I'll post a pic of it when I get a chance.

 

Ive seen the cage in a few evos on here. It will look awsome. It should fit. I dont see why not. interior is identicle like you said. It should be a piece of cake.
