Well I thought it was good the first time I took it off but when I got the car serviced, they said it was leaking and needed to be replaced. So I guess I'll just have to do it and see. I will give RRM a call tomorrow and ask them to be sure. Also, that slam does look good. Which "coilovers" did you get? Can you link me to them?
So tonight I got started on my DIY manifold porting and painting. Everything's off and I've taken pictures. Tomorrow I will begin grinding, then painting high temp black. Now that everythings unplugged and stuff, taking the valve cover off is easy. So if I decide to, I can just pull it off, sand, and paint, I found the right blue at autozone. And if not, they said I could return it. I still need to do a lot of degreasing too, it's nasty. I went ahead and did the throttle bypass mod thing too. Very easy, took maybe 2 minutes, just to pinch the clips that with upside down on the hoses. I'll have the pics up tomorrow when I get everything finished. Check back tomorrow afternoon to see the finished product.
Also, are you supposed to razor the throttle body gasket to match to the port that you do? I'm not sure how far to go with it.

OK, got back from my friend's house today with some work finished on the engine. I got the valve cover repainted in a good blue. I need to clear coat it because it looks like chalky blue. The radiator holder things, fuel rail, and cruise control cap were cleared and looked better than the valve cover. I went to port the runners on the manifold and found out why RRMs costs so much, and I know I would never do that work for money. I couldn't find an aluminum cutting carbide burr, but I got a tungsten carbide bit (the guy at home depot said it was stronger). So I bought a dremel (which I'm returning today) and went to work. I got NOWHERE on the runners and already wore out both bits I bought. So I said screw it and polished it up and taped it to paint. If I can find stonger bits, I might redo that later sometime. So then I went and painted it glossy black. It came out good. So here's some pics of all I did and some other pics.
BEFORE:

AFTER:

FUEL RAIL:

MANIFOLD PORT: (notice, all the yellow is what gets grinded out to match the gasket)

BACK:

Also did the throttle body coolant bypass thing just cause it was easy.

VALVE COVER:

Let me know what you think.

And now non-Lancer related, after I finished up my car, me and my friend decided to give his brother a late birthday present, so we hooked his car up big time.

He was out of town this weekend, so we left it in the garage for when he gets there.

I ported my IM as well. The trick isnt hard bits its using a hell of alot of WD40 to flush the shavings away.

Well I didn't want to end up spending $40 on bits because I was going through them pretty fast. So after 2, I decided to call it quits. I was at home depot again today, do you think a chainsaw grinding bit would work better?
