Some updates: rims, HU, and other stuff.

Hey, i just want to show everyone what i have been up to with my lancer. I got an Alpine CDA-9857 and a new set of icw 17" rims. Enough said, now for the pics.

Here is a pic before the rims

And now WITH rims.

My interior. Painted those myself and everyone seems to like it.

Now a closeup of the rear wheel. That drum looks horrible. I think im painting it and the front calipers black.

Now my next plans are to get new rotors and AXXIS(sp?) pads up front from RRM and then paint the calipers and drums black. I also want to paint my mesh grille and headlight housings black. Let me know what you think.

Sure depending on how you drive and what you want.

Eventually you're struts will blow but how long and whether you'll even notice/care is up to you.

I had my Lancer lowered for about 5 months and it felt great. Just a little bumpy but never big enough to bug me. I would think springs will do just fine. Just as long you replace the struts later down the line. And maybe a camber kit,

BTW, I have some progress springs for sale. Same as RRM

Your struts are going to die even if you keep the stock springs. Remember that. It is a car. Things wear out over time.

Lowering springs CAN (can. that means maybe.) make the struts die faster. In the end, it's all a matter of luck. Some people blow the stock struts quickly with springs. Others last forever. You're taking a chance, as with many modifications.

So if your struts blow, regardless of whether you had springs or not you will need to buy "KYB Replacement Shock Set- OZ, LS and RA. 2002-2006" from RRM for $439? Then you can keep the springs and not worry about blowing them again (unless you drive horrible)? Do I got the basic idea?

Also, how will one know when they're struts are blown and is that all you will need to replace?

One more thing, if you blow your struts with springs and feel like upgrading to coilovers then they will come with everything needed to replace damaged parts right?

Thanks, I'm trying to learn more about suspension and I understand most, if not all were probably answered in the past.

It'll be bumpy as hell and ride like crap. I guess a more formal way of testing would be to push the corner of the car down and see how it returns, if its jumpy and takes a long time to return to normal the strut is blown.
