First post here for me, so go easy! I have been lurking for a while and reading a ton of posts. I want to black out the front grill on my 08 white GTS. I know it has been done before, so I Photoshop'ed a couple pics and I can't decided between the two of them. This isn't actually my car, I stole it from someone's cardomain

But anyhow:

Before:

Lowered and tinted with blackout number 1:

Lowered and tinted with blackout number 2 (and some new headlights ):

Also if I were to do either of them, would I want to use a gloss or stain finish? Not really trying to make it look Evo, just more aggressive. I think the stock front bumper has too much color on it.

Tell me what ya think!

i like number 1 but you have to paint the chrome trimming around the upper grill and use a satin cause then it would kinda blend in with the actual color of the upper grill and lower grill and fog housings. as for tinting they have this protective overlays that you can get in different shades on ebay with out replacing the headlights and they have that color blue

#1 though FTW. That will look real clean. And some black rims with a polished lip would be ballin.

I didn't really think about the chrome surround, figured I would just leave it, but I like this much more!!!!

That looks really good. What paint did you use? Did you remove the whole front end or just mask?

i used puplicolor trim paint its like a flat black has the same look as the grill. Now if you want the paint to stick to the grill you have to take the crome coating off. this is a ***** to do but thats the only way the paint will stick

other then that i masked off the bumper and took out the grill to do it
