i say use the goo gone soap pjal said that should work good. i had a friend who used one of those aluminum sponges to try to remove some spots on his car, that got the spots off

i dont its fromt he tire shine stuff because these spots are like up next to my rear window and some are just to the left of my gas cap. it feels like crust but it wont scrape off.
