Yet another antenna post

Just a quick one about the S2000 series replacement antenna. Handa-accessories was good to deal with and promptly shipped the 'stub.' As some have noted, the fitment isn't exactly perfect as the flute or flare at the base end isn't exactly the same. It leaves a small (say 2 mm) gap between the antenna base and the roof mount assembly. That said, it does look good, certainly reduces the dork factor of the stock aerial. I'm going to Home Depot to see if I can find an o-ring or something equivalent with the right diameter to close the gap up. I doubt as is that it'd let water into the antenna threads, but I'd like to tweak it just a bit more. A highly recommended and very cheap mod indeed.

could maybe a small gasket or plumbing seal fill in that gap nicely? I want to put that antenna on my car, and when I do I'll se if Home Depot has anything to make that look better. Funny, I didn't even notice the gap while looking at other club member's cars, so I guess it's not all that bad.

I recently bought the S2000 Antenna and tried it on immediatly, I noticed the antenna was wider at the bottome but I don't think it's a big deal for 2 reasons: the antenna isn't really made for our car so it won't fit perfectly and I remove the antenna at all parking lots and when I cover the car at night so adding a washer or spacer to remove will make it more of a pain in the *** then a quick 5 second job.

oh, if it's just that the antenna base is wider, but still sits flush on the mount, that's fine. I thought he meant a gap in the threads. Cool, I want the antenna now. Any suggestions on where to get the best deal on one?

That's right. Like Spool said, it's not a gap between the mount and the base. But rather the base of the antenna is maybe, maybe 1 millimeter wider than the mount on the car. not even noticable from 10 feet away.
