Question about my bodykit i just got
Ok so i got the toms v2 kit, i went to two bodyshops. One it was my uncles friends shop. They want $700(hes giving me a deal) to install and paint it. they are going to screw it on or whatever. I went to this other shop which seemed way nicer, and they said they wanted to mold it on and paint it for $1300. They seemed way more experienced and the shop was nicer. I dont know what i should do, id want it molded, but that willburn the biggest hole in my pocket. Do people usually get it molded or screwed on?
iunno most people just get it BOLTED and CLIPPED on
but iunno i dont really like the molded on look becuz its going to bring trouble down the road.
like if u scrap the bottom of the bumper its prob gonna push the whole thing up and going to crack the mold.

Well I just got mine yesterday and I'm doin it myself. I already have the front bumper installed. All you really gotta do is drill the holes where the screws go. You can use the existing screws/retainers (I got new ones). Slap some doublesided tape on the edges for extra safeguard and reinstall. That'll save you a pretty penny so all you'd have to worry bout is gettin it painted.
I also have a question for those who have kits....does most of them come with rear liscence plate cut-outs? I have the walker rear and there isn't one. I wanna try to avoid the bodyshops, so if you did it yourself, some tips/advice would be appreciated.

I would go with not molded to the car. They tend to crack after time and that looks bad. get the kit fitted real good and tight. I sanded the inside edges where the bumpers bolt up to the car and got real good fit. no big gaps. I would also go with the cleaner shop, thats a pretty good indication of the quality of work they do. You got the kit so that your car looks good, then make sure its done right.

Yeah, like we've said...don't mold it in; after time it'll crack and it'll just not look any good.
And yes, that Walker rear bumper is horrid. I bet the factory exhaust does even fit it either! At least, that's one of the few problems a local lancer guy had with his.

hey Gabe, naturally, mold 1 pcs (change whole bumper with mold one) always look nicer then add on lips (bolt on ur existing bumper)
for mold bumper, depend on the material u using, either fibre or PU fibre, for fibre, its easy to crack/break or what so ever when you hit something or being hit on, as for PU fibre, its more durable then fibre as the material mix with some kind of plastic of thing (likes carbon fibre material). PU fibre are more expensive then fibre though...
by end of the day, its still depend on individual & preference, some like whole pcs mold coz look nice, some jus save the green go for add on lips
