Today was a big day for my car, i was to replace the bumper,fender,headlights

The fitments on the bumper was really off .The tabs were in the wrong place and it did not have the pre-drilled holes so ofcourse i`m scared to drill holes into the fiberglass bumper. i was kinda pissed cause i can`t install it.


Anyways on the good note this is what we accomplished.

Good job man. Now take that bumper and show it Your the boss!!!! dont show any fear. it can smell it on you like a dog.
Just get a buddy and put the bumper up on the car,line it uo with the fender and mark the holes with a sharpy and make your holes. I used a dremil, it worked well. also sand a little on the lip where the hole goes so you get a nice thight fit to the fender.

 

I would wait till spring to do the bumper. snow and ice and stuff = not so good for fiberglass. I dont drive my car in heavy snow because im afraid i will hit a chunk of ice or something (wheel well snow dingle berry) and crack or break it

 

Pm'd you back Sly. Bumper install is cake really. Just take your time. I was ancy and forced it around headlight, cracking the bumper. made for a very pissed off lancer owner and couple hours of work to get it right again. lol

agree with phish. You will have to be very careful in the snow with this thing. If you are getting it painted (which I hope you are) I would invest in a clear bra. Paint chips off FG very easy. I was having to touch up the bottom of my bumper after every single drive on the highway. touch up paint from advanced auto ftw!

 

thanks guys yeah i`m getting it painted as soon as friday i hope, i also am looking for the clear bra and i`m getting a beater for next winter too.
