He's got a prototype. I don't think he's going to go around popping them on other people's Lancers (but who knows). There's a much quicker/easier solution though. Try chopping the pic or asking someone to do it for you if you're not photoshop savvy.

I'm looking to get those headlights that drummerjun posted and convert them to work with our cars. Price is less than $200 shipped ... but I gotta do bulbs and convert the wiring, which i dont mind. But kinda a pain in the ****. You should show the company a pic of the jap ones and see if they can make em similar. Is it possible to get black painted HL housings? What about color matched to the TH lancer color? Can we send ours in, get em painted and get them back sent back? That would be a cool service!

they cannot be made black (and I am unsure of other colors) because the would not be DOT certified. Black housings are not DOT certified (atleast on our car). I am unsure how a service like that would work but i bet that would be expensive. Again i will ask the company or Rob if you read this go ahead and ask them.

those headlights are sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!! now the only thing that may be a problem that was discussed before when someone had a diy dark housing, was that the refelective housing of the stock headlight is there for a purpose.. what i mean is that isnt the reflectiveness (is that a word?) of our stock housing there to help brighten the road more since our lights are not projector style? im only thinking this because guru sed in his first post that the housing was painted a dark color, thus eliminating the chrome effect of the headlight. but it still looks pretty reflective to me in the pictures. someone pleeeeeeez correct me if im wrong, and if i am, im definitely definitely down for those lights!!!

Well i see what you are talking about however i had them installed and the relflective part that effects how the light is shaped and projected.

the painted part is parts that are normaly not effective in the reflectancy. The paint is still reflective it is just a dark color (this si they the black ones did not pass DOT certification).

Honestly, I'd rather spend $200+ on a projector + angel eyes (black if possible), than to spend $100+ on a set of blackened stock headlights...
unless of coz mine stock lights are broken and i need to replace them...

my .02.

but still these still~~look way cooler than stock...

Thinking of taking mine apart and painting those same parts body color. That would be sweet. Are these lights you are talking about the same ones Kontra has? I think I saw a darker set on his car too.

Yeah these are made by the same compay but the darker ones will not pass DOT approval. Black housing are illegal. So these are dark grey.

Make these and I'll buy them. The darker OEM lights are nice, but these are kick ***.

Still looks kinda stock... Its just the color.. And the shade doesnt stand out.. Why not ask the company who makes the lights to make a black housing lights or projector lights or angel eyes?.. Somewhat like the BMWs... I think a lot of people will have interest in these lights..
