I treated my DE to some nice new 17" wheels, a good upgrade from the stock 16" steelies. I wanted a good looking wheel and tire for the summer, and keep the factory steelies and yokohamas for the winter.

I went with the MSW Type 14 from tirerack (17x7), and Yokohama W4s (215/50R17). The MSW wheel is manufactured by O.Z. Racing, so the quality is good. Very nice looking rim, and I got it from tirerack for about $70! I'm very impressed with the grip of the new Yokohamas, these tires make my lancer feel extremely sporty!

I mounted/balanced and swapped over the factory TPMS sensors after work this past Thursday. I gave the factory steelies rubber valve stems, so I'll just deal with the tire light for the winter.

My boss ended up hooking me up with the tires and part of the rim cost, so I only paid around $300 for everthing. Working in the auto field has some decent advantages sometimes! Anyways, I highly recommmend these tires for anybody who wants a sticky tire, with low noise (Almost no noise!), and great driveability.

damn man pretty nice deal for some new rims and tires... they look nice now all it needs is some springs...

 

A nice drop would look pretty damn good, but I'm not doing anything else to this car now. Its just my daily driver, so I'm trying to leave it as stock as possible. I just couldn't stand the steel rims.

@bluewater: just discovered this thread. what's the offset on your wheels? any rubbing issues?

i'm thinking of going with 17x7 or x8 wheels, with 215/50/17 tires, on stock height.
