Interior color matching
Interior color matching
I ordered the lower cubby piece for my ES that turns it into the holder for the 6 Cd Changer. Much to my surprise (not a bad suprise, just a suprise), when it arived I found out it was black, and not grey like my interior. I assume this is the color of the piece in the OZ edition. I like the way the black looks on the grey but it looks a little out of place without anything else done in black.
Does anyone know of a color code or a paint that matches, or comes close to matching, the color of the black dash pieces?
Or, by chance, does anyone who has black peices want to trade for gray ones? (ha, I'm kinda laughing even as a write this).
I suppose I could just buy some black paint and paint ALL the peices I want including the black one.
Or just buy all the pieces in black, but that could get a little expensive.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Hi, can i ask you how much that piece cost?
I recently painted mine Platinum Silver and I messed up on a certain part. I was thinking of just buying a new one and was wondering about how much they cost.
Thanks,

I should have been a lot more careful!
If you have the time, you should paint the pieces yourself. I've painted about 5 pieces so far and 4 came out really good. I don't have any pics, but there is satisfaction to say you did it yourself. At first I was intimidated by taking apart my dash, but it turns out it's pretty easy.

I'm definatly going to paint them myself. I just don't know if theres a color or paint that will make it look like the original piece
I don't want a shiny look to it, I just want it to look oem

You probably won't find a color code, since the black pieces aren't painted (as far as I know). Maybe you could take it to a home depot or ace hardware or wherever they do custom paint, and ask them to match a shade of black to your piece.
