fresh out of the oven!

MORE PICS ON PAGE 2!!!!!

so im a little late on this haha but i was reading over the how to thread and just got up enough courage to black out my headlights and it turned out great well worth the time and saved a few hundred on depo headlights!

well heres some pics of the process...

headlights taken apart...




sanded down and ready to be painted...


after third coat i did four total (and forgot to take pics of the first few oops)


finished painting...




my new puppy wanted to help, what can i say shes an enthusiast too haha


starting to put em back together...






ready for the oven


all done with wiring and bulbs back in place


a few back in the car ( its was dark out and my flash isnt that great ill post more tomorrow

Ah, that reminds me I have to paint my other headlight one of these days. Got the Lancer into an accident like 2 years ago and busted one of the headlights...I've been driving around with a black eye - one normal, one black. Too damn lazy to bake it and paint again. One of these days...

Yours came out nice btw, looking good.

thanks alot for the feedback everyone!

and forty 9 yeah i think you can get them on japan parts but there really expensive there somtimes they pop up on ebay for like a couple hundred... i want cedias someday too haha down the road.

They look awesome man, great job on em. Just make sure you keep an eye on that seal... leaks are killer

A quick question too... how'd you take the clear plastic face off the headlight? It looks like you sawed it off from the picture lol.

^^^ the clear plastic part is pulled apart when you take the light out of the oven and the glue is hot... you can pry it with a screw driver and then use ur hands to pull it apart...

yeah you do it when the glue is hot they just pull apart with some elbow grease, and yeah im gonna have to re oven one of them its kinda fogging up a tad

ooooh alright... I need to take the face off, there's a lot of shavings from the holes I drilled in there that never cleaned out. But I'm worried about the fogging
