Question with bulbs wattage

I've just got a new 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer, the headlight's bulb has a rating of 65/55W 9007. I'm planning to replace it with a aftermarket bulbs of 100/80W 9007 bulbs. Will this cause any problem with the vehicle? Will it burn the headlight assembly? Will it void the warranty?

So did you guys use it at high beam at all? Did you try to have it on high beam for a long time? when you said you had no problem with it, did you only use the low (normal) beam? or both high and low?
thankz so much for helping out

I've read that I should clean the bulbs with alcohol. Do I have to really rub(hard) on the glass tube with the alcohol? or should I do it lightly? How would I know if it's really clean or not?

k, you dont need to clean the bulbs. just dont touch them when installing. the oil from your fingers will cause the bulb to heat faster and burn out the bulb faster.

Don't touch the bulbs! One filiament means that only half the bulb burns out, if you look in the glass you will see 2 metal coils, one is low wattage and the other is high. Only 1 can burn out at a time and this is most common.

the alcohol pads are just for incase u do touch the bulbs abd get a finger print on em.... in which case u take em back and tell em they didnt work and get a new pair for swap. 9007s are dual filament bulbs most of the better ones burn out on the most commonly used side of the bulb. i guess i should ask what kind they are and what u paid. hope all turns out well.

Just curious... When you switch on your high beams do your lows get turned off? And if that is the case, what can I do to override it so that all lights go on at the same time?

i used to have them, and they burnt out in under a year. i don't know if that's normal for high wattage xenon, but i don't plan on having to replace mine every year.

go with catz galaxy white or eurolite xenon super plasma (that's what i've got now, XB series, and love em).

when your high beams go on its BOTH filaments burning, not one or the other. it does what you want it to do, right from the factory.
