I have coilovers and I'd advise against them if it's just for looks. I spent over a grand on basic coilovers (height adjustable only) from a reputable brand (Tein) including the cost of professional installation and my handling is now superb for a FWD. As with many modifications, comfort and practicality have admitedly taken a back seat. If I where just in it for the looks, I'd probably be dissatisfied in the comfort. Unless you wanna go with a cheaper brand, which may not be made as well, or you wanna go all in for something more adjustable (damper adjustment) that'll be a couple hundred dollars more than basic coilovers, I'd say spare yourself the money and just get springs because basic coilovers aren't gonna be much more comfortable.
Both brands are good, just make sure that you get them for the Lancer LS, because there are differences between some trims. Also, make sure that you have them professionally installed by a reputable performance shop, or you run the risk of things wearing out more quickly or things making noises that they aren't supposed to. You may find my old post helpfull from when I was considering new shocks+lowering springs vs. coilovers. I was considering replacing the shocks at the same time as the springs because my car has a lot of miles (80k miles at the time) on it and at the time, had blown rear shocks. This is also something you may want to consider so that you aren't paying the labor twice.

By the way, I don't regret my coilovers, because I got them for both performance and looks. They can be bouncy at times but the go-kart-like handling makes it worth it to me.

I'm going with Lumpy as far as the purpose of the suspension... If you are just going for the lowered looks, get some springs for now. Yes, the struts will eventually wear out from the extra stress, but you'll be content for the time being... Same some cash and get the coilovers when you can.
Coilovers would be my personal choice but I want the handling aspect that comes along with the suspension upgrade...
