That project is the shiznit! Damn! I love it. Wanted to do similar, but that is a good chunk of change doing custom work like that. Keep up the awesome work!

Nice build. Hope those welds will hold the weight and vibration of the motor. Certainly something different.

Just caught this thread. Looks killer.

As far as color goes, the HOK color is great. Another option is Spicy Orange Mica which wa sone of the colors that the MazdaSpeed Protoge was offer with from the factory. It was more orange than the HOK Tangelo Pearl (the one I assume that you had the pic of a few pages ago).

Good luck & keep the updates coming!

How is the radiator piping going to work? Does it not have to go to the rear of the engine bay?

This is a great question, I will change the exit of the coolant/thermostat housing to the front.

This requires you to drill two holes in the block and two in the headgasket as well as plugging two holes in the block and headgasket. Once I reach that stage I will post pics for everyone.

Right now I'm working on patching up the firewall and sealing up the edges. I'm also prepping the cage for paint.. its pretty cold up here now so I'm looking to invest in a heater for the garage before I can push forward.
I hope to have pics up soon.

He said the tranny can take about 300 hp but he is planning on 700-800 hp so far. I read the whole thread already

You got it, I might settle with 450-550 though will see. I dont want to be breaking loads of parts at that power level.

Plus rwd 800hp is really not necessary unless your drag racing I guess.

Car is still a work in progress. Should have updated pics soon.

Thanks again for all the great comments and positive support guys!
