Which size rims for a LANCER ES?

Which wheel size is the best choice for a stock lancer es that has not been lowered or anything. 17s,18s, or 19s please vote according to looks, driveability, and if they will rub!! Will they rub when u have a loaded car like 5 people? Will they rub on turns? Please vote and post your opinions / experiences. Also for people who own 17s,18s, and 19s what are the tire sizes u have? And the rim sizes?

18s will fit i guess but 17s are ideal. its really up to where you want to take your lancer.

17's maybe even 16's, depends if u want a show car, or a faster car...cuz a few lbs. on the wheels doesn't sound like much, but converted to the weight the flywheel has to spin..its a lot, so keep that in mind. whenever i get my car modded for racing(turbo etc...if i do, lol) i will surely get liek 12 or 14" tires, that are really wide for good traction probably....just an idea.

if u want show, go 18's, but your speedo/odom. will be off quite a bit, and you will be much slower cuz of the extra weight/distance the tire has to turn.

just my 2 cents of technical know-how...its not a lot of know-how so whenever i get the chance..i throw it in

18's with 215/35/18 won't throw the speedodometer off because it is the same circumference as the stock tires. but bigger rims do stress the brakes more...not much tho. 19's look goofy on the lancer

i forgot where it was, but on a miata forum, they had a 'calculator' that u could choose 2 tire sizes and it'd lay them out on each other and tell u the % diff, you'd have on the odom. and speedo...if i find the link ill put it up. its on this forum somewhere do a search for it.

18s .. dont hit any curbs .. just warning u right now ... have u hit any curbs with ur stock tires? notice how it just hits the tire and not the hub cap. if u get 18s its just going to be about 2 inches from the ground to ur rim and a curb is about 3 inches above the ground. i'd say go for 17s instead. winter is coming up and i see u live in nj and we all know how nj roads are with those killer pot holes

I have had 18" on my car for around 9k miles. Here are my observations:

I have hit LOTS of pot-holes, a couple big ones, and have yet to see any rim damage.

If you go with plus sizing, your speedometer will not be thrown off much. I have 215/35R18's. When my speedo reads 60 mph, I am actually going 60.72 mph.

The ride is more harsh, but a long way from uncomfortable on stock springs.

Cornering is alot different. Feels like the car is on rails.

I get alot more compliments.

Winter is coming, and I will have to put the stock wheels and tires on in a couple more weeks.

Go with 17's, I think you'd be a lot more comfortable driving with those on any kind of road. 18's wouldn't be bad, but where I live, the roads are crap, lots and lots of potholes so I enjoy the thickness of the tire. 19's just look ridiculous...
