CF hood and CF vent??

I'm looking at possibly getting a oem carbon fiber hood and was wondering if there is anyway to put that carbon fiber hood vent that RRM sells on that hood WITHOUT having to rivet it into place. And also can you cut a hole in the carbon fiber hood and have it be ok. Here is the vent I'm talking about...

Also, I'm wanting to install it like "WRX style" (pardon the comparison, it was all i could think of)...I love the look of a hood scoop but don't want to put a CF hood scoop on a yellow hood..I think that would look dumb..

you could always just paint the CF yellow? it would be a lot cheaper than hood + scoop + install. I think i have seen WRX style hood scoops on ebay for like $50 so you would check that out too, unless you want a CF hood?

if you go to a good body shop, theoretically it should work, but personally if i were you, id leave my stock hood, and get that thing molded but in the scoop way you want, would like nice, but as to answer your question can you cut carbon fiber, im pretty sure you can, but can the scoop be put into it, im not entirely sure, jsut call up some shops and see, but im pretty sure it will work

I would just mold it to my stock hood but I think that CF vent in the middle of a stock Yellow hood would look bad IMO....I know that you can mold fiberglass onto our hoods and maybe CF onto our stock hoods but how would you "mold" CF to CF w/o it looking like ***....that is the only thing puzzling me right now....

Honestly i dont think its possible to do this without rivets. Trying to get it molded is way too much $$$ and it would basically be making a new hood

Hey I recognize that hood vent.
I was wondering the same thing because I was interested in a cf hood and then putting the hood vent on it. You do need the rivets though otherwise it gets too expensive.

Very similar to what I wanted to do. In fact almost identical. I'm still uncertain about the strength properties after cutting it. not to mention I worry about the ends of the weaves fraying and unwinding without being properly covered in resin. Anyway...I don't have the money for it now so I really haven't been looking into it.
