looking for some fresh ideas on Shift knob options.

I have a CF Weighted RAZO knob in my car. But since "weighted CF" is counter-productive and kind of defeats the purpose, I'm thinking of changing it.

 

thats my knob, it's not weighted, just plain old carbon.

can you use a MT shift knob on an automatic Lancer?

 

I saw those on ebay, but in the pic on the ebay ad it looked like the neck on the knob was really long. I have a short shifter and don't want a really long neck. Can you post a pic of yours?

I will be ordering one of these very soon. I have a problem with scolding hot shift knobs in Florida. So hopefully it really does have "low heat transfer"

Stupid question #2 - why not?
I didnt notice any buttons to move the shifter down or an OD button.

 

I suppose if there is no "safety" button to change gears in the auto, a manual shift knob would most likely work.

Always wanted one of those but when I purchased my car they didn't any m/t so

 

I got the same one. I thought I was the only one.

Feels very solid with the short shifter I have in the car. Had it in my race car but liked it's feel much more in the lancer.
