ny i believe 30 or 35% is the darkest you can go, i have 15% all around and i love it, only got bothered once for it, because the cop pulled me over saying my turn signals are illegal (red in the back hyper white in the front), my tint is illegal, and my evo 7 wing is illegal (obstruction of view), but he didnt give me any tickets ::shrugs::

In NJ the rears can have whatever you want, and the fronts none. Sport Compact Car, Oct. 2003 has a chart about a couple of laws like ride heights, tint, lights, and License plates.

The legal where I live (KY) is 65%. I've got 80% though. The cops around here really don't seem to care.

FL's tint laws say 15%, not sure about NJ. If you really wanted to know, you could call your local sheriffs office to find out (the local number **NOT 911**).

Is the lower the number the darker the tint where you guys are all from? Everyone is talking about how dark 5% is but here in KY the higher the number ( I have 80%) the darker the tint.
