i set out a quest to brighten up the inside of my car at night because the front dome light is pitiful. and on my quest all i could manage was to find the number '3175' to replace the bulb. but EVERY 3175 is a two connector. the ones in our domes look like the brake light bulbs but miniature. im hoping someone could shed some light on this for me. gosh, pretty dan corny. but yea, i just want some brightness inside.

 

i just look for a bulb that is about the same size and wattage i dont look at # that is probly a bad thing to do but it works

 

same here, just take it out and pair it up to the ones in the stores.

 

yeah everyone makes fun of me cuz there is no back seat light. :P

 

Was it hard to get that dome out? Like to see the light? I went under my car to see my license plate lights, and DUDE..it took a whiiile. like 10 mins. to get ONE out, and i didnt even get it out, cause my hand couldn't fit in there really. Was it really hard for the dome light?

all you gotta do is pop the panel off and there is the bulb..it is size 3022 i believe...or 3175...i think the only difference is the wattage..

 

why don't u just wire some new lights into the car instead of changing the dome light?

wire some mini-spotlights to be on there mirror or something ya know....just an idea

 

my friend was ultra ghetoo with his domelight in his 92 cavvy...

get this...he took off the entire housing and wired up a 10" purple neon light..ziptied it to the housing...looks SOO horrible lol its hilarious, but he has put some money into his cavy so its all good

 

the only problem with matching it up to ones at the store is that a place like pepboys or autozone dont really carry light bulbs like hyper white colors only for headlights, and the bill from a performance shop for a stupid hyper white is my foot, and both my arms
