Eibach? K-Bar? B&M?
Okay, if this is posted in the wrong section, my apologies in advance
Anyways, so my cars 1 year anniversary is coming up so I wanna get something aftermarket for it, but at the moment, im kinda on a budget b/c of Christmas and i'm saving up 4 the EVO VII Kit. So i've been deciding on the following:
- The 'K' Strut Bar
- B&M Short Shifter
- Eibach Pro Kit
See I'm not sure about the eibach springs yet b/c there kinda expensive, but I was jus thinking the strut bar b/c I heard it works really good..BUT then I was at the bar yesterday and this dude I used to work w/ owns a 2000 Chevrolet Cavilier(YA I KNOW LOL) and he has a B&M Short Shifter in it and he says they are ****in wicked. He told me 1st to 2nd, isnt a HUGE different but he said the rest are an HUGE difference.
So, I dunno, my question 4 u guys is...what would u pick if you were in my shoes...If anyone has the B&M short shifter, if they could gimme some pro's and con's about it, maybe that would help me out a lil bit.
Also, i dunno if n e one else has noticed this, but our shifters kinda slant to the side a lil but and I noticed when u put the B&M short shifter on it, it doesnt n e more...is that true or is it jus me lol :P
Anyways...THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

Get the strut bar. The shifting won't change too much with a short shifter, but the strut bar will seriously change your handling for the better. Much less body roll.
get the strut bar AND a street customs short shifter! Ive got the short shifter and it looks and feels the same as B&M for a fraction of the cost... The street customs one is also very high quality...

id get the shortshifter off ebay thats like only $30 that some people said and a strut bar off ebay fro $15 or the front/rear strut and rear sway bar off ebay for like $45-60 or whatever..
really cheap and lots of people say they work well
if u got cruise control u might have probs with the front strut bar though...

ok get the spring, you wont feel no different, but at least your car look better. the strut bar is useless unless you get a whole suspension setup. the short shifter isnt worth the money yet. good luck on your decision
If i was you, i would go with the spring first cause for handling and look, but more expensive and in second, with the B&M short shifter, me i have it and its a very good change its more fun to drive u earing the little '' clic'' when u shifted lol and the second and 3th gear, are very direct ... Its my little toy ! lol

if you want a performance upgarde, get the k-bar. If you don't like the shift throw you have now, then get the shifter. I would wait to get your kit before you do any work on the height of your car, but thats just me. Good luck on what ever you decide
I'd start with springs - it'll make your can look/handle a bit better - plus you wont have to worry about the wheel well gap once you get your hot looking kit on. If you want to run a cheaper route - get the short shifter mentioned above for $30ish, and get a used K-Bar... you can probably get both things shipped for only $125 or so. You can do it all on a budget - but to be honest - I'd buy it all before I'd get a kit... and that is coming from somebody who sells kits for a living.
