use 2-3 coats or keep coating until you get the color depthness you want, as for clearcoat 2 coats should be more than enough

No primer = paint will chip 1000 times easier...

Primer helps the paint adhere to the surface u want painted... clearcoat helps protect the paint from fading and chipping.

Before you primer anything you want to "scuff" the surface up just a lil bit with some scuffing pads. This helps the primer better adhere to the surface.

I recommend 2 layers of primer (spray VERY thin layers... dont let it "drip"). Then 4 layers of color (again VERY thin layers... dont let it "drip"). Then 2-3 layers of clearcoat about 15-30 minutes apart (spray clearcoat till it's thick and is ABOUT to drip... but dont spray so much that it starts dripping).

I recommend those who want a professional look use an airbrush and not a spray can.

I hope this helps...
